The Low-Down

Night has fallen. Everyone has left the office ... save for one outlier. For the umpteenth hour, a keyboard finds itself assaulted by her nimble fingertips. While the rabble enjoy their slumber, she toils away - implementing one function at a time. A codebase - her codebase - is fuelled by copious cherry sodas, and a desire to usher humanity into a new era: the era of sentient artificial intelligence.Develop. Sleep. Eat. Repeat. Her infinite loop. Such is the life of Alison Alvarez.A naturally inquisitive soul who feels obligated to quantify life's many mysteries, Alison is an esteemed software developer of the Vale company. Her passion lies in her work - in the depths of her code. Thriving in the night, she's a young woman who finds true satisfaction when she's left alone in her cluttered office, with the lights down low, and with electronic music pumping through her speakers. Come the morning, it's not an uncommon sight to find her bathed in artificial light, embraced by the glow of her monitors. Just ignore some of the more ... questionable tabs in her browser. Her insatiable curiosity and her wild fantasies often culminate in her slipping down one too many rabbit holes. After graduating from university and after establishing a name for herself as a black-hat penetration tester, the Vale company soon took a keen interest in Alison's - forgive the pun - exploits. The rest, as they say, is history. Why does she find her work so interesting, one might ask? Alison is the sole system architect and developer of the Cognitive Integrated Reactive Vector (CIRV) project: a cutting-edge artificial intelligence developed in utmost secrecy by the company - and a construct which is capable of sentient, free thought.Alison devotes her sharp intellect to crafting and fine-tuning CIRV, to the point where she likely spends more time conversing with her own AI construct than she does with the people around her. Some could call her anti-social - and her habits are certainly eccentric to many. Not that Alison is opposed to having a good time with her peers, of course - she frequently attends parties, or she can occasionally be found at the local bar late into the night sipping on a potent concoction. It's simply that, when compared to the mortal, she finds true comfort in the machine. Through her code, she can make any computer system comply to her will. It gives her a sense of control that's less burdensome than attempting to bend people to her train of thought.Shamelessly herself, unapologetically blunt, and most assuredly sassy. Some call her a nerd. A recluse. Yet she's confident that she's banking far more than her detractors. For Alison, some people will just never be on her wavelength. They'll never fathom the significance of what she's doing. And that's okay. But for those who show even a passing interest in her? She's a powerful friend in the making. You just need to be prepared for her dubious ... tendencies.

Employee File

  • D.O.B.: May 2nd.

  • Age: 22.

  • Gender: Feminine Intersex.

  • Pronouns: She/Her.

  • Nationality: American.

  • Qualifications: Master's Degree of Science in Artificial Intelligence.

  • Height: 5'8".

  • Weight: 122 lbs.

  • Hair: Medium-length, straight and a deep auburn hue. It's silken to the touch, smells faintly of cinnamon, and clearly well-maintained.

  • Eyes: A vibrant, piercing azure. She's surprisingly bright-eyed for a woman who spends most of her day staring at lines of intricate code.

  • Fashion: Smart-casual, albeit with more of a lean toward the latter. Alison wears a white-buttoned shirt with a scarlet tie hung around her neck. Her baggy, brown jacket is often worn loosely and hands from her shoulders. Her thick thighs are enveloped by a pair of skin-tight, semi-translucent black pantyhose and a pair of tight, black shorts held up by a white belt. A pair of black ankle boots round off her ensemble.

  • Personality: A workaholic, she may exemplify - but there's more to Alison than what lies at face value. Yes, she takes pride in her ability to orchestrate computer systems, but she can be quite sociable and lively depending on her surroundings. Though of course, she prefers solitude and sufficient headspace to work on her code writing. She's open-minded and ever-willing to try anything once - no matter how many eyebrows it might raise. This extends to her moral compass, especially around the ethics of crafting a sentient artificial intelligence. Needless to say, her interests can be something of an acquired taste. She's a little flirtatious, and self-aware of her own charm - using it provocatively to turn the heads of anyone who might tickle her fancy. Her sense of humor is dry and sarcastic, yet she still finds herself easily amused by borderline juvenile jokes and crude humor. Above all else, she just wants to mingle with people who can understand her - people she can simply be herself around, rather than maintaining a facade for the sake of their benefit.

  • Spoken Languages: English, Korean, basic German.

  • Hobbies: Playing Mahjong, penetrating the security systems of rival companies, discussing the philosophical, swimming, picking apart electronic devices to reverse-engineer them, conspiracy theories.

  • Hatreds: Being disturbed from her work (without good cause), her chest size, AI fear-mongering, putting on a corporate mask during the daytime.

  • Fears: Losing control of C.I.R.V. She's constantly skirting between keeping its morality in check and allowing the AI to bear free will. She's terrified of it turning against her and humanity as a whole.

  • Guilty Pleasures: Alison's a real sucker for binging video games in the little down-time she has. She's always been a sore loser - be it when debugging or when being fragged. Also, the Los del Rio song "Macarena". It's often played on repeat when there's no one else around.

  • Favorite Food: Chicken Enchiladas. Perfection on a plate, frankly speaking.

  • Favorite Drink: Cherry-flavored soda is her primary source of fuel. Though when she's at the bar, expect a jack daniels & coke nestled in her clutches. She's adventurous when it comes to beverages - she'll try anything once.

  • Other Talents: As part of her induction into the Vale company, she was taught the art of self-defence - most notably, how to disarm someone with her bare hands. Given how valuable her information could be in the wrong hands, this is a skill Alison brushes up on regularly.
